my sign: Virgo, Pisces Rising, on the cusp of Leo

If you read Fashion Intel regularly, then you know how much I love astrology.  I read my daily horoscopes, have had my chart done numerous times and have read countless books on the subject.

Last week I attended the opening of Chrissie Miller’s (of Sophmore) pop-up shop for Scorpio Rising, her collaboration with Urban Outfitters. [photos here]  What made the night for me was talking to her mother, who is the uber famous astrologer Susan Miller and who I’ve been a devoted reader of.

I am so excited that Susan has created these charming and cosmic horoscopes for the SOPHOMORE x UO collaboration, Scorpio Rising, currently at Space 15 Twenty’s Pop-Up Shop. Read your’s here.

Mine:::
When you spot an outfit you might want to buy, you quickly check its details. A beautiful snap or button, the evenness of a stitch, the feel and drape of the fabric–your eagle eye takes it all in. You know that nothing can elevate a look faster than the sum of the beautiful details, as well as making sure it has proper fit. We’re with you, dear Virgo, and we wish everyone appreciated all that we do as much as you. The right fit that looks tailor made is the secret of chic women worldwide–and besides, you know a good fit will always makes you look slimmer and trimmer.

Too HOT

It was so hot in L.A. today!  Luckily for me, UCLA is just minutes away from Santa Monica and the ocean breeze can be quite refreshing.  After class I had no desire to go back home to 101 degree weather.   Boyfriend and I hopped in the car and drove to the beach.  I’d been wanting to do some thrifting in Santa Monica and I am so glad I did because I picked up these OZBEK pants!  [Bio & style.com]  Even though it is too incredibly hot to wear them, they surely have a place on my clothing rack.

After acquiring some thrift goodies we were famished and drove over to Real Food Daily.  Not only is that one of my favorite eateries, but it is the place my boyfriend and I ate the day that marks our anniversary.  Five years.  Then off to Wasteland we went, where I discovered two amazing dresses.  Moschino & Vena Cava, but both size 0.  Hilarious – I don’t even think I know a size 0 – those girls just haven’t made it into my circle yet.  Nonetheless, they were being sold for amazing prices and in great condition.  I took these photos so you could all sigh with me.  Lastly, I have found my summer sandal.  Thank you Jeffrey Campbell.  You can usually find me in heels but I truly needed a flat for the many adventures I am planning for this summer.  I cannot wait.

Greetings from San Francisco

As promised, here are some photos from my trip to San Francisco.  My boyfriend and I were  invited to spend the new year with my sister and her fiance in their new home outside the city. Of course we were in SF every day, either shopping or having vegetarian delights!  Here are some of my favorite images:

Top to Bottom:

1. Vintage Gucci & Louis Vuitton line the front cases in this resale vintage store called Static [on Haight].  They had a meanie shop girl, who got mad at me when I snapped this photo and acted like a real jerk!  I will try to forget her bad attitude as they have some great clothes, shoes and bags.

2.  Isn’t that an amazing sheep’s wool jacket? It was in the window of a Goodwill, which I spotted while in the front seat of my sister’s car.  I thought, how could that still be there?  We parked, I went inside and looked at the price tag – $55! No thank you Goodwill.

3.  My boyfriend models his Cheap Monday skinny jeans while contemplating some vintage moccasins.  I wish he had got them.

4.  I have no idea who this girl is, but she had my kind of attitude!  When we stopped for the countdown to New Years we saw her with some friends and she was amazing.  I loved her outfit which was equally matched by an amazing personality.  We counted down from 10 for about a half hour! 10-9-8-7 over and over.

5.  Gianco Ferre vintage at Wasteland.  $125 and not in my shopping bag, though I really loved it.

6.  Alexis Bittar, how do I love thee!  This was on display at the de Young Museum.  From my knowledge of his jewelry, this is from his Ms. Havisham collection for sure. D-I-E
