May I suggest you dress up as Chloe Sevigny the cat for Halloween?  Even better is to have a friend dress as Terry Richardson to take your photo.  Just some costume suggestions from Fashion Intel. xoxo

October is my favorite month of the year. Why? One word. HALLOWEEN. Everything leads up to this amazing day and you have 30 days to prepare. The weather starts cooling off in L.A., all the stores put out their skull tsotchkes, and black makeup becomes omnipresent. What more could a girl ask for?

This October my boyfriend and I are heading up to Nor Cal to spend Halloween with my sister in San Francisco. I’ll be dressing up as Lady Gaga – nay, I will become Lady Gaga – and Asael still has no idea what obnoxious character he’s going to conjure up.

I wanted to start this month off with a post of some beautiful images in the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar. High fashion meets Tim Burton. What you can look forward to for the month of October on Fashion Intel:

+ Black, black and more black
+ Witches, Magic and the Occult
+ An updated site with lots of changes

Worst Costume Ever

October 31, 2008

My friend Stefani sent me this Halloween costume via email the other day, and the Fashion Intel would like to title it the Worst Costume Ever.

For $42.95 you could be a “Sexy Skelly”  and not only will you be exclaiming to the world that you are only comfortable with your sexuality on Halloween, but that you not-so-secretly obsess about your BMI as well.

I honestly couldn’t believe this costume when I saw it, but why should I be surprised when I live in a soceity that markets “sexy” to children.  Why not market eating disorders to misguided women as well?

Think I am being a bit too critical? No, I didn’t think so.  Once you realize the belt is meant to be a meassuring ribbon atop a skeletal frame, you know that is has to be the worst costume ever.

Trick or Treat

October 27, 2008

Halloween is my favorite holiday, so every day this week I’ll bring you something spooky, witchy, or ghostly.  If it is black, ripped or webbed you bet it will be on my radar until the 31st and probably there on after, because that is simply my style.  I love the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte and am dying to know what they’ll be doing this Halloween.

What are you going to be for Halloween?
