In Chloe I TRUST

May 20, 2009

From Elle June 2009

Chloe Sevigny is one of the coolest girls on the planet.  From Sassy to Big Love, Chloe’s style is a look that is championed by the creative and booed by the masses.  Chloe’s looks in Elle are totally inspiring me right now.

Don’t forget to pre- order your Chloe Sevigny “Buckle Boots” from Opening Ceremony!

Must Have Miss Van

March 4, 2009

You know that feeling you get when you see something you must have and it gnaws at you every time you think of it?  That is the feeling I get with Miss Van’s “Wood Pin” collection.  See the entire collection here.

What’s Brewing

February 27, 2009

I haven’t read in such a long time, but I am glad that I did today!  They have Rachel Antonoff’s entire Fall 09 lookbook up on their site and the photos feature Alia Shawkat, Julia Frakes, and Sarah Sophie looking absolutely lovely.  Such sweetness & witchery!

This photo of Alia Shawkat is exactly what the Fashion Intel loves and to be honest, I could probably wear that look every day!  Hat included. I had to post this look because not only is the dress rad, but my long-time boyfriend has a celebrity crush of Arrested Development’s Maybe. [fyi there’s more Alia on Rachel’s official site] Wink.

Daisy’s Birthday Suit

January 27, 2009

I love Daisy Lowe, the beautiful nude

We have begun packing for our move and I have come across many items that I’ve wanted to post on Fashion Intel.  These photos of Daisy Lowe from Paradis Magazine are some of my favorites from 2008.  The whole magazine is actually quite impressive, including about 40 pages of Mariacarla Boscano by Juergen Teller and erotic lithographs by John Lennon.  The magazine contains mostly nudity but the photographs are all quite lovely.  If you’re looking for Paradis, you might have to check the adult magazine section as that’s where I found it.

So Fresh & Clean

October 24, 2008

I have figured out why I love Emma Watson so much.  She looks lovely in everything she wears and seems mature beyond her years.  It wasn’t that long ago I remember seeing Lindsay Lohan trashed on every other rag mag; it is such a sigh of relief knowing that there are talented actresses in cinema who also cherish self respect.  Don’t get me wrong, I loved Lindsay, Mischa and Nicole through their rocky roller-coasters and still do, but it’s the Emmas of the world who are warrant the most attention.

Here is a shoot I came across in the Vogue Italia suplement issue this September.  Since I know I recevied lots of love on Fashion Intel from Emma Watson fans, I hope you enjoy this spread.  See the rest behind the break – there are tons!

I like you, Amy Sedaris

October 21, 2008

I’ve met Amy once, and I wouldn’t pass on the opportunity to watch this genius in action again.  Meet up with Amy and spy the Fashion Intel in the audience over at The Grove – Barnes & Noble – 730pm – this Thursday.

All of Them Witches

September 19, 2008

The Fashion Intel loves witches [if you already hadn’t noticed], both good and bad, so I was so excited to see Hermione in the October issue of Harper’s Bazaar.  To be honest, I was simply excited to see Emma Watson!  I’ve never read any of the Harry Potter books, and probably have only seen two of the films, but I love that there is a fashionable red headed witch in that series.

Emma Watson has proven herself to be one of the youngest fashion plates out there.  Born in 1990, she has impressed magazines both in the U.S. and across the pond.  She looks best when she expresses her affinity for Chanel, lace, and sporting duds from the best U.K. designers.  Considering that tomorrow marks London Fashion Week’s denouement, it is apropos to celebrate these fabulous designers with the girl who has been seated at their runways.

Editor’s Note: I realized that it might be a gaffe to call sweet Hermione a witch, so for those true Harry Potter fans, would it be more appropriate to call her a wizard?

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

September 8, 2008

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who models the sexiest lingerie of them all?
You, sweet Daisy, are best of all.

Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who sells leopard fabric, whips, and bras to all?
You, Agent Provocateur, it is true. And no one mixes witches and sex, better than you.

Satan? Witches? Lingerie? Yes, Please.

September 8, 2008

Shot by fashion photographer and good friend Tim Bret Day, the inspiration behind ‘The Season Of The Witch’ is the work by Paul de la Roche; the execution of Lady Gray – mixed with the Massacre of the Innocents by Peter Paul Rubens. The first of the posters are an insert in this months Pop Magazine and GQ (UK).

More Daisy and my top lingerie picks this evening!

Lowe and Behold

August 6, 2008

There is no doubt we love Daisy Lowe. It has also become obvious that our readers do as well, as she is one of the most popular searches we get here on Fashion INTEL. We have all seen her Terry Richardson photos, we showed you her private school bad girl shoot in Jalouse Magazine, but its this month’s spread in TATLER magazine that has us truly fawning over Daisy.

News I Can Watch

August 1, 2008

Each morning, after I workout and shower, I sit down with some breakfast and watch MSNBC on mute. I keep it silent because my boyfriend is asleep at this hour, and to be frank I loathe the usual morning show host, Contessa Brewer. This morning not only was I surprised with a better anchor, but an outfit that is possibly the best I’ve ever on morning news, morning television at that. I had to know who this stylish anchor was, and I discovered she is the beautiful Tamron Hall. I must find her broadcasting schedule because if this what she looks like on a Friday morning, count me in!

The Fashion Olympics, Starring Lucy Liu

July 25, 2008

I love the Olympics. I have been counting down the days until 08.08.08, because that, if you already didn’t know, will be the beginning of a summer of athletic greatness. Not only have I been clearing my DVR of Flight of the Concords episodes and movies from TCM to prepare for my non-stop Olympic recording, but I have been scouring the fashion mags for all of their lovely Olympic tributes. These various Olympic inspired spreads have graced the pages of Vogue, Elle, and Teen Vogue, but it is Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Olympics starring Lucy Liu that is truly lovely.

Here are ten pages (behind the cut) of Lucy wearing beautiful frocks, baubles and bags while displaying her athletic ability. I once saw her at M Cafe de Chaya wearing a houndstooth Stella McCartney capelet – I have been a fan ever since.

Girl on Film: Zooey Deschanel

July 21, 2008

Zooey + fashion + music = best summer ever!

Don’t Ever Change

July 14, 2008

It is no secret that the Fashion INTEL loves Anne Hathaway. Spotted last week: What we love even more is when a girl can dump a guy before he goes to jail, fly to Rome, and look radiant in white. One of the only actresses still keeping it classy. We have almost forgotten HAVOC.

Listen Up!

July 9, 2008

If you are anything like me, you still love many of things you did as a teenager. Sometimes many of those things such as Dr. Martens’ creepers or Screeching Weasel reveal themselves as ridiculous with a little age, but if you are lucky you can still count on some of your former interests to remain in tact.

The Gossip is one of those groups that no matter how huge they become (in the UK, wake up America!), they will always remain awesomely hip. Not simply because they have a fearless and sexy lead singer, but they make fun music. I’ve loved them since I was 18, and years later my adoration has only grown.

I was enthralled to see Beth Ditto in the music issue of NYLON magazine, no less rocking the Christian Louboutin Roditas in yellow. She’s been in Paris Vogue, Vogue, Pop magazine, and it is great that her style is still being recognized, as she is a gem among plastics. I wasn’t a fan of these particular Louboutins, as they looked too similar to something found in a Spearmint Rhino dressing room, but Ditto is making them look hot. For $500 they can be yours too.

July 2, 2008

Tennis can be such a lovely sport, if you are into sweating and looking fabulous. Wimbledon 2008 has been underway, and my DVR has been working overtime recording every serve, volley, and backhand on The Tennis Channel.

I was overjoyed to see both Williams sisters advance to the semi-finals, in which if they both win, will face each other in the finals. But even more interesting were the outfits they dawned on the court. Serena as always made a statement with this white trench during warm up. Her much more conservative, yet still stylish sister Venus looked classy in a grecian-eqsue white dress. And though not a winner this time around, Maria Sharapova (who isn’t on my radar of favorite tennis players) impressed me with her menswear ensemble. Tres chic!

Sam & Lindsay: Dynamic Duo

June 17, 2008

Sam & Linds

If you haven’t heard by now, it seems that Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson are more than just friends. Fabulous! Can you say best female fashion juxtaposition? For the ladies who love their skinny jeans atop some bondage stilletos to the females who would much rather wear a t-shirt, jeans and some Nike dunks (& maybe some flannel), these two lovebirds are a fashion dynamic duo.

For Linds, L to R: Christian Louboutin/Zipette $995, American Apparel/Shiny High-Waisted Legging $44, Proenza Schouler/Aviator Sunglasses $280

For Sam, L to R: Urban Outfitters/Two-Tone Derby Hat $19.99, Puma/Sky II High Top $75, Forever 21/Music Graphic Tee $17.90

June 7, 2008

It brings me much happiness keeping in touch with my friends near and far, via letter (always lovely) or email. Many dramatic occurrences kept my stationery at bay for most of this year, but now that things have livened up and I am ready to put my pen to the paper. Thank yous that couldn’t be written will now take precedent in my letter loving life, so you count on finding a special something in your mailbox.

These words are completely inspired by a visit to Urban Outfitters dot com today. What? You are saying, explanation as follows. I saw a sweet friend of mine named Tania Enriquez on the front page of Urban’s site this morning. Oh my I thought, remembering we haven’t written in a few months. Of course I knew she moved to Philly, but now she’s finally being featured by the company she has given all her creativity to, which is amazing! Finally, a former UOutfitter gets the props they deserve, props – yes, that’s what Tania would say, I am sure.

Her fashion picks ring true to the sneakers she sported everyday with such style. And you know how I feel about sneakers. Tania wore them well, and continues to do so today.

Couture Moment

May 5, 2008

Liz Lemon\'s Couture Moment

It took us some time to give 30 Rock a chance, but then it moved up in our Netflix queue and we had no choice but to plunge into this Tina Fey brilliance. Last Thursday we nestled up to the flat screen and Liz Lemon brought the laughs harder than ever, while looking fabulous in a red Zac Posen dress. The next day the same dress was seen on Cameron Diaz (after the break) at the red carpet premiere of What Happens in Vegas. Our vote goes to Liz for numerous reasons – you cannot deny her genius.

Le Rue

April 29, 2008

When going to a show in L.A. I can only expect to see the indie darlings dawning their best. With the heat knocking us out these past few days, I was looking forward to seeing what kind of ensembles would hit the street, dying to look summer in the eye. The crowd at the She & Him (Zooey Deschanel’s music venture) show at The Vista (Los Feliz) did not disappoint, and made the night even more interesting. In fact, there wasn’t enough time to capture how many fresh faces I saw. Zooey was great, and so were her allegiance of girls.
